Budapest - Meeting Pete

Hi, a Budapesti talalka osszejott :) Kellemes elteres volt a mindennapi megszokottol. Belefert egy kis varosnezes, muzeum (Picasso, Klee, Kandinsky), mozi (Beowulf 3D), kocsma...

Masfel ora utazgatas utan mar igen kellett konnyitenem magamon, foleg az elozo esti pia utan. Mivel ugyis el akartam menni muzeumba, ez latszott a legjobb megoldasnak, mivel ott biztos lesz ilyen hely ahol nem zavarnak. Ez igy is volt, csakhat varni kellett mig kinyitnak. Megvettem a jegyet, leadtam a kabatomat es irany a budi. Nanaa hogy a noibe mentem be eloszor, hatra arc es irany a masik :)

Kicsit konnyebben nekialtam kepeket nezegetni, az egyiknel (Picasso, Fiatal lany) jon ket csaj, raneznek es elkezdenek rohogni hogy vonalkod van a fejen :) Ilyen vicces dolgok tortennek a muzeumban, meg nevetni is lehet meg jopar igen csinos csaj is megfordul arrafele. Ajanlom mindenkinek, megha egy kis muveszet nem is erdekli ;)

Beowulfot nem volt szandekomban megnezni, de mivel 3D-ben adtak, hat legyen. Jolie melleibol tobbet is mutathattak volna vagy az egyik dan csajbol :) De ez is csak azert volt benne, hogy az igenyes amerikai nezok is bemenjenek annak ellenere hogy mar elrettentettek oket ismeretlen szavakat hasznalo magyarazattal, ertem "dan legenda/mitosz".

Az estebe belefert egy kis kocsma, amit talan egy kicsit tulzasba is vittem... legyen tanulsag.

Nos mivel egy regi haverom megszolta a magyar nyelv hianyat ezen a blogon, ime lass csodat, lett egy ilyen is :) Igaz rovid es semmi vilagrendito hirt nem tartalmaz, de miert ne. Ja, es az ekezetek nem evletlenul maradta le.

Akkor ha minden jol megy decemberben Budapesten 8.e sorozes :) Majd arrol is irok hogy sikerult (ha osszejon).

Speed up PDF distilling in Framemaker

Hi, recently we faced a problem that distilling framemaker documents into pdf took really long time. We have large maps in documents so it could be understood. But, we tried alternative solutions. First saving the FM document into postscript. That wasn't quick also :) But what was interesting is the fact that to converting the postscript into pdf was in a reasonable time.

What is framemaker doing that takes so long?

After analyzing a examining we found out that when distiller is waiting with text "Relocating files..." framemaker is doing something with the pdf. The responsible was the fmpdfreflow.dll. This library does some postprocessing, called reflowing the document. We don't really need this feature so we needed to disable it somehow.

We found no menu option to do this. But fortunately there is a framemaker initialization file called maker.ini. By editing this file you can remove or comment the line when this library gets loaded.

The result? The pdf distilling is faster by cca 60-70%. The resulted pdfs are bit smaller and the flows we don't care ;-)

Toto vsetko by sa dalo aj odpustit, hlavne ak vas zaujima len sprava. Potom sa pozriete do diskusie, no a toto je najhorsie na celej stranke. Ziadne konstruktivne pripomienky a debata o teme, kazdy sa venuje tomu ake chyby tam su, preklepy a ako strapnit chudaka autora ktory o teme nic nevie...

Preto po precitani spravy diskusiu si ani neotvorim, nema vyznam... viem co tam bude.

Viva mudrim a vsetko lepsie vediacim, preco vlastne nepisu tie clanky oni?

Is it good enough for me?

Few days ago (after long hesitation) I decided to create my own blog account. I didn't know what I'm going to write about, so I started with creating my blog and with checking the features offered by this site.

1, Why does it need google account? But let's ...

Then I tried to log in the second time and what a surprise: my blog disappeared! At login they write sth about this problem, but helped not. Seems it used my other email (not gmail) address and now the gmail one. Stupid again.

I wanted to change it, but couldn't find. The only email settings are connected with blogging, you set up an email adress, and by sending email there, it will be automatically published. Nice, let's give a try. I sent 2 mail's from different addresses, and both got published! It means anybody can write to my blog (knowing the email address)?!?!

Is this blog hosting site good enough?
